The ceremonial groundbreaking took place today at the corner of Rt. 42 and Ravenhill Parkway. The Jerome Village Kroger marketplace will be the first new store in Central Ohio since 2009. The 123,000 square-foot state-of-the-art marketplace store will feature enhanced produce, deli, bakery, meat, seafood, and sushi sections as well as a Murray’s cheese shop, expanded apparel section, a fuel center and more.
As Nationwide Realty Investors’ President, Brian Ellis shared in a recent Columbus Business First article, “Kroger is just the start in terms of new commercial development at Jerome Village.” By this time next year, The Jerome Village Market will also house a 20,000 square-foot multi-tenant retail center and have multiple outparcels underway along Rt. 42. We expect a variety of dining, retail, and neighborhood shops making The Market a hub of activity for this neighborhood and beyond. In addition to the significant retail coming to the project, the article also recognized the neighborhood’s evolution into a vibrant mixed-use village with homes, trails, pools, a fitness facility, local schools, a fire station, daycare center, and community center outfitted with the neighborhood restaurant.
In another recent article in the Columbus Dispatch, which also covered the announcement, Ellis shared that “this is really a strong growth corridor in central Ohio. Lots of jobs are being created here, and now this retail center will support that. It’s all coming together, the jobs, the homes, the retail services.” |
