August 1, 2022 Family Update
Good Morning!
The turn of the calendar to August presses down a bit on the accelerator toward the start of school. I won’t say welcome back quite yet but it is on the tip of my tongue. As we move closer there will likely be questions you may have.
Our support staff returns today and our school counselors return on Monday, August 8th. The rest of the Jerome staff will be back on Monday, August 15th. If you have specific questions or needs here is the contact information that may be helpful:
– Main Office/Attendance
– Guidance Office
Our volume of calls and emails increase as we move closer to the first day of school. We will return each of your inquiries but it may take 24-48 hours for a response. We appreciate your patience.
We are really excited about the school year and have some wonderful experiences on the horizon. Over the next two weeks I will be sharing our Mission, Vision, Values, Behaviors and Outcomes with everyone. This will be our guide as we embark on the 22-23 School Year.
I am looking forward to seeing you all and learning with you!
Respectfully,
Mike

💚DJHS UPDATES💛
School Meals 2022-23
During the last school year, children and families benefitted from no-cost school meals for all students, made possible by special permission from the United States Department of Agriculture. Unfortunately, these permissions have expired. Dublin City Schools and the Ohio Department of Education cannot extend the permissions for no-cost meals for all students.
School meals will still be available to all students; however, they will not be free to all students. Households may apply for free or reduced-price meal benefits – applications are available at: dublinschools.net – as was done before the pandemic. Eligibility for free and reduced-price lunch is based on federal income guidelines or participation in other programs such as Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program and Ohio Works First. For additional information concerning the National School Lunch Program, please see the U.S. Department of Agriculture school lunch question and answer webpage.
For the 2022-23 school year lunch prices for Grades 9-12 will be as follows:
– Breakfast: $1.50
– Lunch: $2.95
Reduced will be $.30 and $.40 respectively
Parking Pass Information
We will begin selling parking passes to Seniors on Thursday, Aug. 11. Details on how to purchase a pass will be shared prior to Aug. 11. Here are some general details:
– Parking passes sold will guarantee a spot in the Brand Road lot, however parking each day will be on a first come, first serve basis. Because of ongoing construction and number of students traveling to Emerald Campus this provides us the most flexibility.
– We will sell passes to Seniors, Juniors, then Sophomores sales will be ongoing through the first days of school. Once purchased students should display their pass.
– The cost of the parking pass is $60.00 for the year.
– DCS Driving Policy can be found on pg. 40 of the DCS Student Handbook
School Supplies
As a general reminder the high school does not send out supply lists to begin the year. Some general helpful items:
– Have a backpack. We are continuing to decrease the use of lockers and this allows students to move about more freely.
– Start the first day with a notebook, pens/pencil, and Chromebook.
– Each classroom teacher will share necessities on their syllabus the first few days of school.
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out!
